Weekly Report CW35

https://opensea.io/collection/boringfolks

With all these boring creatures ready, I have to wait to list them on the OpenSea NFT network. Waiting is pretty boring. But it gets exciting as soon gas prices are going down again. About The Boring Folks:

All made with ♥ to turn boring moments into excitement together ^‿^

Our mood changes from time to time, and so do these creatures change their look. Whenever boredom comes up, pick another frame as your avatar, or trade it.

Their look and shapes are manually crafted with Boring Textures. These are simple analogue grayscale PNG sequences, all hand-picked and photographed. Every creature has its own Boring Texture as DNA that can be unlocked and downloaded by the owner.

Have fun collecting!

So every single creature is connected to one of these animated textures. Actually, the textures made how they look. It’s a displacement map of a surface that create their bodies, so I call it their DNA.

Whenever a person buys a creature on OpenSea as an NFT, they unlock the DNA and get a free download link to the specific files. This comes as a surprise and isn’t mentioned.

But hold on, what is GAS?

GAS is required for the computer power needed to write an NFT into the blockchain. Normally, it is about $35. Currently, it is more than ten times higher at $450. That’s crazy. If this sounds all like ¿WTF are you talking about? — then you should check out Justin Cones post about NFTs and Crypto art.

Justin Cone has a fabulous article about NFTs. I really enjoyed reading it and recommend you to check it out. Even if you are not interested in NFTs, his humour is worth every minute of your time.

Thank you for nothing, iCloud Drive

I’m still working through iCloud Drive issues. Actually, I wanted to publish today a step-by-step guide, how to get your iCloud Drive data out of the hell, to store it in a better place. But this has to wait for next week.

The Five Friday Questions (CW35)

I end every week with a Friday Report and five questions, as we implemented it at OnSaPa GmbH to keep a consistent feedback relation.

What was good?

What to look at in the future?

  • Finalize Pitch Deck and investment application for WOP
  • Publish NFT collection on OpeanSea when gas lowers
  • Create B12 backups asap
  • Finalize iCloud transfer and share the process on Medium next week
  • Create t-shirt design for muchofunboogie.com
  • Send more applications
  • Put the other 50 brushes into mailboxes for actionpainting.ch

What was shitty?

  • A lot of unexpected iCloud problems and workarounds
  • Pain in my body, bones and muscles hurt from i.d.k.

What should stay as it is?

  • Being relentless

What was neglected?

  • Still neglecting Time-Tracking

I will be back next Friday.

Enjoy a wonderful holiday!
